LASA 2012 * The Thirtieth International Congress of the Latin American Studies Association San Francisco, California * May 23-26, 2012
This panel will explore the relationship between politics and aesthetics in the Mexican muralist movement. We welcome interventions in Spanish or English that address: the role that Marxism, politics, or ideology played on this movement as well as in the individual trajectories of José Clemente Orozco, Diego Rivera and David A. Siqueiros. Accepted papers will be circulated among panel participants one week before the conference; presentations should last 15-20 minutes each and will be followed by a roundtable discussion.
Abstracts of 250 words by March 30th, 2011 to Hector Jaimes (email@example.com).
