Each year, Frühe Neuzeit Interdisziplinär (FNI), the society for early modern German studies, sponsors a set of sessions at the Sixteenth-Century Studies Conference. We now invite submissions for FNI-sponsored panels at the SCSC meeting in Fort Worth, Texas, October 27-30, 2011. Please note that sponsorship does not include financial support.
FNI welcomes submissions for both individual papers and complete sessions in all fields, including history of art and music, literature, history of science, and all subfields of religious and social history, for the period of 1450-1660 from the German lands, broadly defined. Submissions for individual papers should include a 250-word abstract, complete contact information, and a 1-2 page c.v. Submissions of complete panels should include the above information for each paper, along with a 250-word abstract defining the panel as a whole. To encourage comparative perspectives, panels may include one member whose research is based outside the German-speaking lands.
Submissions may be made either in electronic or hard copy form and should be sent to Laura Stokes at the contact information below. Abstracts must be received before April 1, 2011. Full panels may also be submitted for FNI sponsorship.
