an Edited volume on Women and Related Issues.

SHE: Essays in Historical and Cultural Conversations
An Anthology of Women's History
Articles are invited from scholars who work on any aspect of the history of women's lives during all periods and places. We will consider contributions on political, social, cultural, legal, and economic women's history and how they interact.
Some of the suggested themes are:
« The institutions of marriage and family and their changes over time.
« Identity and community and how they affect women.
« Social and cultural constructs concerning women such as property rights and matriarchy.
« Women's movements, their ideologies, concerns and achievements.
« Women in education, work, professions, literature, popular culture and the arts.
« Political participation, citizenship, and legal and social rights,
« History of indigenous women.
« Women's history, cross-nationalism and globalization.
« History of women in migration.
Other suggestions are welcome and will be considered.
The book is being jointly edited by Dr. Yuthika Mishra, Associate Professor, Department Of History, Vivekananda College, University of Delhi, India, and Prof. Avital Bloch, Research Professor and Director, Center for Social Research, University of Colima, Mexico. Professor Prof. Aparna Basu, previously Professor and Head of the department of History and Patron of All India Women's Conference has consented to write the introduction for the volume. The All India Women's Conference will sponsor the publication. This organization was founded in 1927 and is still involved in undertaking pioneering work in for the promotion of women‘¦s interests and looking after their needs.
Please submit your abstract/s in not more than 500 words and a two page CV by 30 April, 2011. Accepted articles should follow the Chicago Manual of Style, should be between 6000 to 7000 words and should be submitted by 31 July, 2011.
