This edition of essays will explore Moroccan literatures from the inside out. The goal is to examine literature that is popular among Moroccan intelligentsia, themes that are of particular interest to Moroccans, and intersections of these themes. We will look at the interstices of religion, politics, and language in Morocco in its literary traditions, and we will be especially interested in local cultures, local movements in fiction, poetry, and drama, local religious practices and their origins, and relationships of sub-cultures and languages within Morocco.
We are seeking 8,000-10,000 word chapters to include in this edition. Please respond prior to May1st with a title, 400 word abstract, bibliography, and curriculum vita.
