We are currently preparing the publication of a multi-study book to be published at BRILL on the topic “The Mongols and the transformation of the Middle East”. The publication has a number of contributions confirmed and we are looking for some specific topics to complete the volume.
At the moment we are looking for articles that deal with the transformation and/or continuity of the areas listed below in Ilkhanid Iran and the surrounding regions (especially Egypt, Anatolia, Europe):
1) Religion
2) Economy
3) Administration
4) The political system of the Mongols
The articles should represent the nomad/sedentary balance in society and specifically stress patterns of continuity and transformation.
If you are interested in participating in this publication, please send a working title and an abstract (200 words) to Bruno De Nicola (bd288(at)cam.ac.uk). The deadline for submitting the title and abstract is 28th March 2011.
