Hello,
With my colleague Marie-Jeanne Rossignol, professor at the University of Paris 7, I am organizing a volume with papers bearing on the consequences of British abolition of slave trade in 1807 outside Europe and especially in Asia because we already have a set of papers on the Americas and Africa. Consequences might be on a political, social, ideological and economical levels.
These papers will be gathered in a collection of essays published by African world press in the HARRIET TUBMAN SERIES. For information on the publisher go to: http://africaworldpressbooks.com/servlet/Storefront
We expect you to submit papers between 8,000 and 10,000 words. As regards authors' guidelines, please refer to the Journal of American History stylesheet : http://www.journalofamericanhistory.org/submit/stylesheet.html/.
The dealine will be september 5th but we ask you to send your agreement to publish in this volume by April 15th, 2010.
Thank you.
