Call for Papers: Special Issue on Global Problems and Local Solutions
This special issue seeks articles that explore cross-border, cross-disciplinary, and cross-boundary research and practices that develop solutions at the local level to problems caused by global conditions. We are particularly interested in research and practice that is collaborative between social work practitioners and those in other fields, including academic fields such as sociology, labor studies, economics and political science, and non-academic fields such as local agencies and NGO’s. Manuscripts are sought that cover a wide range of topics such as:
• Unemployment
• Health
• Wage inequality
• Food insecurity
• Workplace safety
• Refugees and resettlement
• Child labor
• Trafficking
• Illiteracy
• Divisions between rich and poor
• Poverty
• Environmental disasters
• War
• Peace building
• Human rights
General guidelines for submission:
Each manuscript should be an original document that has not been published elsewhere and is not under review for publication elsewhere. Length should be approximately 20 pages, format APA style (6th edition), submitted as a Word file. DEADLINE for submission is August 31, 2011, all submissions are on-line, instructions at http://advancesinsocialwork.iupui.edu/
