THEME: NEW PERSPECTIVES IN WEST AFRICAN HISTORY
Critical Analysis on State Formations, Strategies and Diplomacy
Book Objectives
Dear colleagues, the study of West African history no doubt have received favourable academic attention especially when there was need to demonstrate that the absence of written records does not imply any history. However more recently history is beginning to romance the social sciences, a situation that requires change in the methodology of teaching while retaining existing facts. This requires that west African history as antiquitous it has been presented lies in it elements of international relations, strategic studies, Diplomacy, Foreign relations, Gender studies, which need to be reflected in its curricular in such a manner not to reflect old stereotypes .This is the objective this book is set to achieve.
Sub themes are as follows but not restricted to it:

12. Berlin conference and the balkanization in west Africa
13. Nationalism and Indigenous Resistance to colonial Rule in west Africa
14. West African states and the challenges of nationhood
15. Islam in Restricted zone
16. Military coup in west African History
17. West Africa and crisis: Case study of Nigeria, Sierraleone, Liberia, Cassamance and Chad
18. Sub regional Organizations in West Africa: Challenge to Integration
19. West Africa and the 21st Century: Challenges of Good Governance and Democratization
