The Summer School offers some specific workshops and round tables on submitted papers or case-studies concerning:
• Migrants stereotype on media
• Depiction of Cultural Differences
• Race and Migration in the Community Media
• Media, Migration and Religion
• Refugees-Migrants’ Religion in the Digital Age
Papers should not exceed 7.000 words (including citations in Chicago style). At the Summer School, each participant will give a 15 minute presentation followed by discussion.
Applicants should submit a 500 word abstract of the proposed research paper and a brief academic CV (in Pdf format) to Elisabetta Di Giovanni at edigiovanni@unipa.it by 4 April 2011 to be considered. Please note in the subject line of your email “Summer School 2011 – Palermo University”. Notification of acceptance will be made by 15 April 2011. Successful applicants will be expected to email their papers and pay the fee by 30 June 2011.
