This panel explores the way African Christians have used media (whether it be print media, television,or the internet) to transform their experiences in communal worship at different temporal moments. It focuses on how the use of technological mediums have facilitated the development of transnational relationships. In many cases, the changing relationship between spirituality and media has advanced the dissemination of their message, extended their churches, and even cultivated new religious networks. We are particularly interested in not only charting the changes in the use of media from the early twentieth century up until the present but we are also concerned with how the media has influenced and shaped their religious message
