The Institute of Caribbean Studies of the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras (UPR-RP), invites the academic community and the general public to the lecture “Identificando el universo espiritual de los misterios entre dominican@s en Puerto Rico: un enfoque etnográfico desde las botánicas” [Identifying the Spiritual Universe of the ‘Mysteries’ among Dominicans in Puerto Rico: An Ethnographic Focus from the Botanicas] by Alline Torres Dias da Cruz.
Ms. Torres Dias da Cruz is a doctoral candidate from the graduate program in Social Anthropology at the National Museum/Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is presently a visiting researcher at the ICS. Dr. José Alberto Cabán Torres (Department of Social Sciences, University of Puerto Rico-Bayamón) will offer commentary. The activity will be held on Thursday, February 24, from 1:00 to 3:00pm in Amphitheatre CRA 108 (Carmen Rivera de Alvarado Building), School of Social Sciences, Puerto Rico-Río Piedras.
