Dr. Susan Hedman, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 Administrator, will deliver the keynote address at "Challenges Facing the Chicago Area Waterway System," an environmental law symposium on March 4 at noon at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, 565 West Adams Street in Chicago. The symposium brings together a diverse group of experts on Great Lakes law and policy, including environmental specialists, law professors, state and federal regulators and nonprofit conservation organizations. Participants will discuss the likely outcome of the ongoing litiation related to the Asian carp, potential changes to disinfection requirements for the Chicago River, and whether officials should pursue hydrologic separation of the Great Lakes and Mississippi River watersheds.
