I'm pleased to announce an interdisciplinary student ran, arts and humanities conference to be held in Ellison Building on the 30th of March 2011 at Northumbria university.
Our research papers are concerned with ideas of locality, sexuality, culture, literature and much more. Keynote speeches are provided by Dr Daniel Laqua, whose research is concerned with the workings and ambiguities of transnational movements and associations in 19th/20th-century Europe. He is particularly interested in competing conceptualisations of global order, the role of peace groups and the relationship between nationalism and internationalism. The second keynote speech will be provided by the Dean of the school of Arts and Social Sciences, Professor Lynne Dobbs, who will talk about the importance of research and diversity, in fitting with our theme.
Attendance is free of charge and we welcome students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, academics, and other interested parties.
