Summer International Travel Opportunities for Teachers with Semester at Sea
Summer Program Date:
Subject: Teachers at Sea
Each summer, Semester at Sea makes it possible for a cohort of teachers to attend the Teachers at Sea program. Once again, I will be coordinating this program, traveling with a group of U. S. teachers on a voyage throughout the Mediterranean where we study international and intercultural education; visit schools, universities and youth organizations; and explore ways to integrate an international perspective in a variety of content areas and grade levels. Graduate credit is awarded through the University of Virginia, Semester at Sea's academic sponsor.
This summer's itinerary departs June 17 from the Bahamas and sails to Barcelona, Rome/Naples, Dubrovnik, Athens. Istanbul, Alexandria (subject to change given recent events), Casablanca, and returns to Boston August 20. You can learn more about this exciting opportunity at www.semesteratsea.org (then click on Voyages, Upcoming Voyages, Summer 2011).
