Developing stronger links among European researchers is crucial to building the European Research Area (ERA). COST stimulates new, innovative, interdisciplinary and broad research networks in Europe. COST does not fund research itself, but supports networking activities.
COST invites again researchers throughout Europe to submit proposals for research networks and use this unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and to embark on new European perspectives. A continuous Open Call for Proposals is used to attract the best proposals for new COST Actions.
COST is asking for proposals for Actions contributing to the scientific, technological, economic, cultural or societal development of Europe. Proposals playing a precursor role for other European programmes and/or initiated by earlystage researchers are especially welcome.
The Open Call follows a two-stage process whereby applicants, after registering, submit a preliminary proposal by a set collection date. Preliminary Proposals (maximum 1 500 words/3 pages), are submitted online and consist of a brief overview of the proposal and its intended impact. After assessment, successful applicants are then invited to submit a full proposal.
The next Open Call collection date is 25 March 2011.
