ACSEE - The Asian Conference on Sustainability, Energy and the
Environment 2011
2 to 5 June 2011
Osaka, Japan
International Interdisciplinary Conference on Sustainability,
Energy and the Environment organized by the International
Academic Forum (Japan) in Association with Auburn University
(USA), UFWH, and the UNWFP. Call for Papers Now Open
The deadline for abstracts/proposals is 01 April 2011.
CONFERENCE THEME: Sustaining the Future
For more than a decade, sustainability has emerged a global
issue for business and industry, government, and academia.
Historically, sustainability has been associated with
environmental concerns such as the energy crisis and global
warming. Today, however, it is recognized that social/economic
justice is equally important to achieving a sustainable future.
Thus, issues such as poverty, hunger, education, health care, and
access to markets should be a part of the evolution of any
comprehensive sustainability paradigm. ACSEE 2011 will address
these various dimensions of human sustainability.
Professor June Henton, Dean of Auburn University’s College of
Human Sciences and inaugural chair for the Asian Conference on
the Social Sciences (ACSEE's parent) in her letter of introduction
to the 2010 conference called for scientists from around the
globe to meet and share our respective outlooks and collective
wisdom on a critical issue of common concern – the pursuit of a
sustainable world.”
This academic conversation, which of course has never ceased,
was continues through this year’s conference, as we again invite
scholars from around the world to address questions and search
for solutions to the complex issues surrounding sustainability.
It is a sincere hope that attendees will use this time together, not
just for intellectual discovery and discourse, but to establish a
common vision and to motivate each other to do our part in the
creation of a better world.
