The Journal announces the Nadel Essay Prize for an original article submitted to the journal by an early career researcher. Papers are invited on social and cultural anthropology relating to the Asia Pacific region, including Australia.
The Prize: The winnerwill be announced in November 2011 on the journal’s website. The winning essay will be published in the journal. The winner will receive a prize of £150, a year’s subscription to the journal and promotion on the journal’s website.
Jury: All submitted papers that qualify will be evaluated by the Editorial Board. They will evaluate on originality, quality of the argumentation, conceptual clarity, and overall readability. The jury decision is final. There is only one prize per year
Shortlisted submissions for the prize will be peer reviewed for publication in the journal.
Conditions: Anthropologists who have earned their doctorate no more than five years prior to submission are invited to submit. Papers should be on the topic of the journal. The submission should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere, and should not be submitted to any other journal until the outcome of the competition is known.
Word limit: 6000 words
