The graduate students of the Department of History at the University of Colorado at Boulder are pleased to announce the 2011 Rocky Mountain Interdisciplinary History Conference.
We welcome submissions from graduate students working in any discipline and national context. Possible topics include, but are not limited to: Regional, National, Transnational, or International History; Visual Culture and Art History; Race, Ethnicity, and Cultural Identity; Jewish Studies; Gender or History of Sexuality; History of Ideas; and Environmental History.
Proposals for complete panels and from first-time presenters are encouraged.
Please submit a one-page abstract of your paper and a current c.v. by May 30, 2011 to rmihc@colorado.edu
Professor David Shneer (Associate Professor in History and Director of the University of Colorado at Boulder's Program in Jewish Studies) will deliver the keynote address. He will discuss his book Through Soviet Jewish Eyes (Rutgers University Press, 2010) and how historians use visual culture in their historical work.
The conference will take place 9-11 September 2011.
