Canyonlands Field Institute announces an oral history workshop with Dr. Dee Garceau at their Professor Valley field camp outside of Moab, UT. Develop interviewing and listening skills, explore issues of reciprocity and collaboration between researcher and subject, discuss storylines and interpretation. Dr. Garceau is a published historian and filmmaker with a doctorate in American Civilization from Brown University, currently on the faculty at Rhodes College.
Professor Valley Field Camp is located on Bureau of Land Management Land about 20 miles from Moab. Amenities include solar-powered electricity, culinary water delivered from town, limited rustic hot showers, vault toilets, campfire area with seating. We provide roomy Lakota-style Earthworks tipis with cots for sleeping.
The workshop cost is $250/person and does include all meals for the weekend.
