We are looking for contributors for a cross-disciplinary, reference encyclopedia project--America Goes Green: An Encyclopedia of Eco-Friendly Culture in the United States--that will be published by ABC-Clio in 2012.
This three-volume reference work focuses on the development of "green" or environmentally and eco-friendly culture in the United States. Entries will present the debates, trends, viewpoints, and challenges of "green" living. The cross-disciplinary coverage provides readers with an understanding of eco-friendly and sustainable practices that are useful and/or destructive to our planet.
Major themes of the work:
• Activism
• Arts, Entertainment, and Media
• Economics, Business, and Industry
• Education and Employment
• Environment
• Food and Drink
• Health, Home, and Garden
• Religion and Politics
• Science and Technology
The encyclopedia includes entries from 1,000 to 2,500 words and will be published in spring 2012 to coincide with Earth Day on April 22, 2012. All entries are due by
April, 2011.
We're happy to send a list of specific entries for each theme upon request. We're also looking for contributors to write essays that document green developments in individual states and territories.
All contributors receive writing credit and access to the e-book. Contributors writing 5000 words or more will receive a small honorarium.
Please let us know you are interested in participating; if you are unable to contribute at this time, perhaps you know of colleagues, graduate students, or other experts who may be interested.
Thank you,
Kim Kennedy White, PhD
