The Midwest Labor and Working Class History Colloquium,
April 15-16, 2011
At The University of Iowa
The graduate students of the History department at University of Iowa are pleased to announce that they are hosting the annual Midwest Labor and Working Class History Colloquium on April 15th and 16th, 2011. MLWCH is an annual gathering of graduate students who seek to build a community of scholars around:
• A discussion of current trends in the field;
• An opportunity to present your own work in a relaxed and informal setting.
• An occasion to meet graduate students with shared research interests.
Theme: “The Rank and File in Action”
We are pleased to announce that on Friday, April 15th, Staughton Lynd,scholar and social activist, will be giving the keynote address.
The organizing committee invites paper and panel proposals from graduate students that cover a wide a variety of topics and time periods. Papers will be precirculated. Short presentations will be followed by an extended discussion with the audience.
