BORDER FARM (2010, 30’) is a docudrama about a group of Zimbabwean “border jumpers” who make their way across the Limpopo River to seek work on farms in the far north of South Africa. It is part of a larger project conceived by director Thenjiwe Nkosi, working with a group of migrant farm workers living on the border. Written, performed and crewed in part by the group, BORDER FARM portrays the many-layered drama of forced migration and raises questions about national borders and their impact on individuals and communities. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Polly Savage (SOAS and RCA).
