Seeking panelist for a paper session on Sport, Politics and Economics in Post-WWII America & the World for the 2012 OAH Annual Meeting to be held in Milwaukee, WI April 19-22, 2012. The theme of the conference is "Frontiers of Democracy and Capitalism" and this panel uses sport broadly conceived, or specific athletes, to illustrate the questions and conflicts over democracy, capitalism, and their compatibility in the context of culture wars in America, the global Cold War, or decolonization projects around the world. Interested scholars of all rank and disciplines are invited to send a 250 word abstract to Andrew Smith andrewrmsmith@gmail.com at their earliest convenience.
