The European College of Liberal Arts is pleased to announce its 11th International Summer University, which will take place from July 7 to August 11, 2011. The ISU is an interdisciplinary programme, which asks students to engage with crucial ethical, political, aesthetic and epistemic questions.
In 2011, the theme of the University is the intellectual legacy of Prussia, the state of which Berlin was once the capital. Combining historical investigation with the interdisciplinary study of literature, philosophy and art history, the curriculum includes museum visits and excursions to sites of importance in Berlin and the former Prussia.
Hallmarks of the programme are: small seminar groups, weekly essays, individual attention in one-to-one tutorials, and a close-knit international community of students and faculty that resides on campus.
A comprehensive programme fee of 4500 Euros covers tuition, campus accommodation, meals, books on loan, reading materials, class excursions, emergency medical insurance, and public transportation within Berlin. Need-based financial aid is available. ECLA is committed to helping all qualified applicants to enrol, regardless of their financial means.
The application deadline is April 1, 2011, and applicants will be notified by April 21, 2011. Please check our website www.ecla.de for further details or contact the Admissions Office at admissions@ecla.de
