CFP: CLAH Meeting 2012: Crime, Criminals, and Social Control in Modern Latin America

Colleagues,
I am organizing a panel for the January 2012
CLAH meeting in Chicago, IL. The topic of the panel is Crime, Criminals, and Social Control in Modern Latin America. I am seeking panelists who are interested in:
a) Crime and social control.
b) The construction of crime as a discourse.
c) Crime and gender.
d) Crime in popular culture.
My paper will focus on ideas and theories about crime in Peru in the late nineteenth century.
