I propose a panel for the 2012 AHA (Chicago) that addresses early American constructions and performances of masculinities. I am interested in original work that discusses any aspect of colonial or early American masculinity. My own work will discuss the contact period, so papers of a similar chronology are especially encouraged. Interdisciplinary approaches are welcome. Please submit a 300 word abstract and a brief CV by January 30, 2011.
