Call for Papers
International Association for Asian Heritage
Colombo, Sri Lanka
7th - 8th April 2011
The first conference of the International Association for Asian Heritage will be held on 7th – 8th April 2011 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Members and other interested scholars on Asian Heritage are invited to submit abstracts on the following themes before 15th February with a short Bio data.
Themes:
1' Pre and Proto history, Paleo Environment and Settlement Studies, Field Archaeology, Conceptual and Methodological issues in Heritage Studies.
2. Art History, Ancient Architecture, Epigraphy and Numismatics.
3. Heritage Management, Conservation, Museology and Ancient Technology.
4. History, Religion, Language, Traditional Medicine and intangible Heritage.
5. Contemporary Asian Culture and Society.
The abstracts should be between 250-500 words and contain the title of the paper, name/s of the authors, the text and a few Keywords. The bio-data should include the full name, title, gender, nationality, country of residence, institutional affiliation, profession, passport number, postal address and other contact details with an email ID.
Abstracts and all other correspondence should be channelled through conference@iaaheritage.org which is exclusive for this conference. Acceptance of abstracts will be notified case by case till 28th February.
Registration:
All participates should be registered by 15th March 2011. The registration fee is as follows.
Sri Lankan Foreign
Student Member Rs. 500 $ 20
Member Rs. 1000 $ 50
Non-Member
Rs. 2500 $ 100
Accompanied person
Rs. 1500 $ 60
The registration fee covers conference kit, foods and beverages for all and includes moderate accommodations for foreign participants.
Post- Conference tour:
All foreign Participants are invited to attend the Post-Conference tour on 9th – 11th April. The itinerary of the tour is yet to be finalized, but likely to include Kandy, Sigiriya, Mihintale and Anuradhapura. An additional fee of $50 will be charged per person for the tour.
Visa:
All foreign participants will be advised to have an appropriate visa to attend the conference.
