Bruce Gourley, director of the Baptist History & Heritage Society, has produced a new website: "Baptists and the American Civil War: In Their Own Words" (the URL is www.civilwarbaptists.com).
The site is a day-by-day journal of the Baptist experience, North and South, during the American Civil War. Each day, beginning January 1, 2011, a new entry is posted, corresponding to the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.
The website began as an outgrowth of Bruce's research for his soon be published volume, "Diverging Loyalties: Baptists in Middle Georgia During the Civil War" (Mercer University Press, fall 2011).
