Global India Foundation, in association with Maulana Abul Kalam Institute for Asian Stuidies, announces the international conference “Emergence of India as a Global Player” on March 24-26, 2011, at the H. L. Roy Auditorium, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. The Foundation welcomes paper proposals from academics, independent scholars and practitioners on the following themes:
-Indian foreign policy and grand strategy in the 21st century
-India’s immediate and extended neighbourhoods
-India in the global economy
-India’s aspirations in Central Asia, Africa, and Latin America
-Coalition and contention in domestic politics
-Internal wars and insurgency movements in India
-India’s relations with the USA, China, EU, Russia
-India’s role in multilateral organizations: the UN, WTO, SAARC, ASEAN et al.
-Nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament
-India’s role in the ‘War on Terror’
-Environmental challenges, public health, food security, education
Deadline for abstracts (up to 300 words) is January 31, 2011. Those
