The Network in Canadian History and Environment (NiCHE) is pleased to announce plans for its sixth annual summer school to be held 27 - 29 May 2011 (prior to the annual meetings of the Canadian Historical Association and Canadian Association of Geographers in Fredericton) in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada. The theme for CHESS 2011 is using environmental history to understand the past and current experiences of coastal communities. Speakers, field trips, and group discussions will explore the role of science, history, and commerce in the environmental sustainability of our coastal communities. The deadline to apply for CHESS 2011 is 28 February 2011. Those who wish to apply should see the official announcement on the NiCHE website for more information: http://niche-canada.org/node/9711.
