The Sixth MCTS Transatlantic Studies Conference: North and South—The United States, European Union, and the Developing World
The United States and the European Union have often had different and divergent relations with the developing world. The relationship has been influenced by colonialism and imperialism, the war on terror, cultural exchanges, development programs, and more.
This conference will explore both the relations involving the US, the EU (its individual members and as an organization), and the developing world.
Papers, poster sessions, and panels should focus on:
1. historically-based arguments;
2. “trilateral” relations;
3. different forms of US and European influence; or,
4. specific themes from specific nations
The conference welcomes post-graduate students as well as established scholars, and aims to be a forum for disciplines ranging across the social sciences and the arts.
All proposals should be submitted online. Go to: www.transatlanticstudies.org
The deadline for proposals is 1 April 2011.
