The European Association for Urban History encourages cross-disciplinary and international research on urban history. It was established in 1989 with the support of the European Union. Conferences are organised every two years. These biannual conferences provide a multidisciplinary forum for historians, sociologists, geographers, anthropologists, art and architectural historians, economists, planners and all others working on different aspects of urban history. The Association invites you to submit sessions that are as comparative and interdisciplinary as possible. Furthermore, we give priority to sessions, which are co-organised by scholars from different countries/universities. Up to now 10 conferences have been organised: The first one in Amsterdam in 1992, twenty years after we will meet in Prague, Czech Republic, dates: August 29 – September 1, 2012, venue: Charles University in Prague, Fakulty of Arts. All are sincerely welcome. The Association supports participation of young scholars by stipends, which cover registration fees, and since 2010 it also offers mobility stipends in a limited number of justified cases.
