As organizer of the "Art in World History" subgroup in the World History Association I am soliciting papers for the WHA's annual conference to be held next July at Capital Normal University ( Shoudu Shifan Daxue) in Beijing.
One of the conference themes is China's contacts with the world and art offers many examples from Chinoiserie to "Western painting" in 20th Century China. Anyone interested should contact me right away because the deadline for proposals is Dec. 15. Mea culpa for leaving it so late.
We take a broad definition of art to include almost any kind of visual culture including electronic and performance.
