The Strategic Studies Student Consortium (S3C) represents the graduate students of the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies at the University of Calgary. We are pleased to accept paper proposals for the 13th Annual S3C Student Conference to be held February 18-19, 2011. The conference theme will be "Strategy, Security and Defence: Expanding the Discourse." Papers are accepted from both undergraduate and graduate students of all disciplines and international perspectives are welcome.
The academic backgrounds of presenters are varied, drawing on a wide range of disciplines. The S3C annual student conference acts as a platform for discussion among students, the military, the defence community, and the general public.
Original proposals should be submitted by December 17, 2010 and be no longer than 1 page in length including the candidate's name, contact information, a 250 word topic proposal, and a 100 word biography. Please submit by e-mail to S3C2011@gmail.com. Those invited to present are expected to give a 15 minute presentation.
Topics may include: Aerospace security, Afghanistan, Arctic security, conflict, cooperation, counterinsurgency, geopolitical issues, immigration, intelligence, maritime security, peace building, resource scarcity, strategic thought, and terrorism.
