International Interdisciplinary Winter School 2011 "GOOD AND EVIL IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY" will take place on 7-11 February 2011 in Samara, Russia. Various aspects of the development of modern society and social change will be addressed in relation to moral values by the representatives of different social sciences and humanities.
Participants:
We invite experienced researchers, as well as graduate and doctoral students working in relevant fields to take part in our winter school.
Types of participation:
- Experienced scholars are invited to deliver presentations at plenary sessions (30 minute presentation) or present their practical research during the workshops (60 minutes).
- Graduate and doctoral students are expected to deliver a 15-minute presentation of their research followed by group discussion.
We welcome papers on (but not limited to) the following subjects:
1.The legal dimension of moral categories: good, evil, justice, humanism.
2.The discourse of good and evil in contemporary politics and media space
3.Eternal values in history: criteria of evaluation of historic events,
4.Value basis of cultural diversity and cultural change
5.Faces of good and evil: mosaic of literary images
6.Psychological basis of social and personal morals
7.Humanistic values in the formation of civic society
8.Moral aspects of economic activity
9.World order: criteria and norms of its formation
Publication of contributions:
Contributions of experienced researchers and the best selected papers of young scholars will be published in two separate volumes.
