Call for contributors: Bound by Love: Familial Bonds in Film & Television Since 1950
Book editor seeking chapter contributions to a compilation of essays to be published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing in 2011. The book, titled Bound by Love: Familial Bonds in Film & Television Since 1950, is based on four panels of papers presented at the 2010 Film & History conference. The editor seeks essays about any aspect of representations of familial bonding in film and television since 1950. All proposals will be considered, however, of particular interest are: the constructed and/or adapted family in 21st century television (Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Doll House, etc).; the nature of mother-child bonds in horror films or psycho-thriller films; family and film noir. Please send a 500 word proposal, along with a brief CV or author bio, to Dr. Laura Mattoon D'Amore, lmdamore@comcast.net, by December 24th, 2010. Final essays must be 5,000-7,500 words (including endnotes), and will be due by mid-February, 2011.
