Nepal: the Country Study was conducted by Consultant Lesley Abdela, Senior Partner in UK-based Consultancy Eyecatcher/Shevolution. Field research took place in the communities of Makwanpur, Chitwan, and Rupandeh districts along with meetings in Kathmandu.

Afghanistan: field research by Wazhma Frogh took place in three districts of Kabul province, two districts of Parwan province and one district of Kapisa province. Interviews were conducted with activists and organisations working in conflict regions of Gardez and Paktya.

Uganda: field research by Fabius Okumu-Alya was conducted in five districts: Kampala, Gulu, Amuru, Kitgum and Pader.
