The first PLATO Institute (Philosophy Learning and Teaching Organization) will take place on June 28-29, 2011, at Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, NY. All teachers interested in promoting philosophy instruction at the pre-college level are welcome to attend. The two-day conference will offer sessions on teaching specific topics in philosophy at both the elementary and secondary levels.

It is co-sponsored by the Squire Family Foundation at the American Philosophical Association's Committee on Pre-college Instruction in Philosophy. Registration will begin in January 2011.
