Call for papers for a non-thematic undergraduate symposium in art history to offer a venue where undergraduate students may present and share their papers. Students from other disciplines who are interested in presenting research focused on visual material are also welcome to submit their papers. The symposium is designed to offer students an opportunity to experience the professional format of conferences in our discipline to better prepare them for graduate school. Submissions will be peer-reviewed by Chapman Art History Seniors under Faculty supervision. Students whose papers are chosen will be informed by the end of February and invited to present their work at a one day Symposium at Chapman University. Accepted papers will be published in the Chapman’s “e-research” undergraduate research online journal.
Submission Guidelines:
Students may present papers that are either based on original research or present original research questions or re-contextualize objects, ideas and theory.
Presentations should not be longer than 20 minutes.
Papers submitted should not be longer than 10 pages, accompanied by footnotes and images.
Please mail your submissions to Dr. Leopardi, Chapman University, Art History, 1 University Drive, Orange, CA 92866.
Conference will be held on April 29th, 2011.
