Human Rights Denied: Indefinite Immigration Detention – Is There No End In Sight?
A conference hosted by the LSE Migration Studies Unit
in conjunction with Student Action for Refugees and the London Detainee Support Group
This conference seeks to examine and call for an end to the increasing practice of indefinite immigration detention in the UK. It specifically addresses political, legal and health issues concerning the practice of indefinite immigration detention.
In order to have a comprehensive approach, this day-long conference consists of plenary sessions, smaller group workshops and a panel discussion. We are very happy to confirm the following keynote speakers:
* Helen Bamber OBE, Co-Founder of the Helen Bamber Foundation
* Alexander Beck, Department of International Protection at UNHCR
* Alison Harvey, General Secretary of Immigration Law Practitioners Association
* Jerome Phelps, Coordinator of the London Detainee Support Group
* Dr Eiko Thielemann, Director of the Migrations Studies Unit, LSE
