We are seeking North America based scholars or professionals who will write and submit a documentary film review either to an academic or professional journal (print or online), an association newsletter or website, or an e-mail listserv.
Prospective reviewers should first contact the editor of an appropriate publication or other outlet to confirm that they will consider publication of your film review. Once you have secured a review assignment, you may then contact me off-list at Sylvia@IcarusFilms.com to obtain a preview copy of EARTH KEEPERS
Recent winner of the Environmental Award at the Reykjavik
Film Festival and produced by the National Film Board of Canada, EARTH KEEPERS takes viewers to the four
corners of the earth with environmental
activist Mikael Rioux. Mikael meets a man who will
become his mentor: eighty-year-old Christian de
Laet, a pioneer in the environmental movement,
who suggests that Mikael undertake a global quest
to meet key visionaries behind innovative projects
with promise for the future of our planet.
Mikael discovers seven exceptional men and women who,
in addition to their scientific and academic qualifications,
each have more than 20 years’ experience in
putting their theories into practice, finding concrete
solutions to environmental and social problems.
EARTH KEEPERS shows that there are still opportunities
for sustainable action, but only if we are
prepared to change the way we think. The film’s
sometimes complex issues all combine to convey a
single message: “We need to start living in a way
that provides for everyone’s needs.
