Whether it is Art Spiegelman narrating the Holocaust through the lens of his father in _Maus_, Alan Moore re-imaging the Cold War in _Watchmen_, or Frank Miller providing enough phallic symbols in _300_to send a Freudian into paroxysms of joy, graphic novelists are frequently fascinated by history. I am seeking essays that delve into what graphic novels bring to our understanding of history and vice versa.
Please send abstracts of about three hundred words by December 1, 2010. I hope to have completed essays by April 1, 2011.
