The University of South Carolina’s History Center will hold its inaugural lecture series, entitled “Wars’ Ends/Aftermaths,” during the Spring 2011 semester. Nine visiting scholars from institutions around the country will present public lectures on a variety of topics related to demobilization, the consequences and legacies of wars, and how various societies have remembered wars. Several of the lectures will feature pairs of historians working in distinct but interrelated fields, and all of the events will allow ample time for questions and discussion.
These lectures are free and open to the public. They will all be held in Gambrell Hall, on the University of South Carolina campus, and are scheduled for January 19, January 27, February 24, March 2, April 7, and April 14.
