This event will bring together a significant number of academics, practitioners and city representatives from all over the world, who often approach the subject of “Place branding” from diverse perspectives. Thus, the conference is not only an interdisciplinary encounter but also an opportunity to share and learn from experiences from different contexts.
The main subject of the conference is structured around several sub-themes which, among others, include: Involving local communities in place branding/marketing; place branding/marketing as a tool of urban and regional development; place branding and management of tourism destinations; branding the cultural and creative city.
The conference includes both, key note lectures and sessions of paper presentations aimed at providing space for lively discussions. There will be simultaneous translation English—Spanish/Spanish—English on the first day of the conference, Thursday 20th January, 2011. Additionally, conference participants will be offered to take part in carefully designed technical tours in Bogotá.
