In order to discuss new historical perspectives on Ireland since 1966 and the issues involved in their construction, UCD School of History and Archives and the Department of Politics, University of Glasgow, are organising a one-day conference at the UCD Humanities Institute of Ireland. What insights do historians bring to our understanding of contemporary Ireland? How do they engage in the study of the recent past? And how do their interpretations compare with the social sciences?
