Held every other year, DIWAN unites Arab American artists, performers, scholars, and students from across the U.S. for panel discussions, live performances, and fellowship. It is also a joyous celebration of the vast creative contributions of Arab Americans to American arts & letters and popular culture. Major funding for 2011 DIWAN comes from The Nathan Cummings Foundation.
The Arab American National Museum (AANM) is currently seeking artistic presentations and proposals. We encourage you to submit your work to be considered for presentation at the 2011 DIWAN. Please save the date and visit http://diwanart.org for complete information on the DIWAN Call for Papers and its November 1, 2010 deadline.
The AANM is pleased to announce its 2011 DIWAN: A Forum for the Arts will take place March 25-26 in New York City in partnership with Alwan for the Arts.
