Flagler College is hosting an interdisciplinary conference, “From La Florida to La California: The Genesis and Realization of Franciscan Evangelization in the Spanish Borderlands” on March 24 -26, 2011 in anticipation of the 450th anniversary of the founding of Saint Augustine. Partners with Flagler College in this endeavor are the Academy of American Franciscan History, the Franciscan Institute at Saint Bonaventure University, the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, the Historic St. Augustine Research Institute, and the Research Centre for the Comparative History of Religious Orders at Dresden University.
