The Communal Studies Association will hold its annual conference in New Harmony, Indiana, from September 30-October 2, 2010. The conference theme, "The Architecture of Community," includes not only the physical structures used by communitarians, but also the social, religious, and political organization of their communities.
The keynote address, which is free and open to the public, will be given by Charles Durrett, a noted architect and author who brought the concept of cohousing to the United States in the 1980s. The keynote will take place at New Harmony's Atheneum on October 1 at 7:30 p.m.
