Italian Conference on African Studies:
ITALIAN STUDIES ON AFRICA 50 YEARS AFTER INDEPENDENCE
September 30 - October 2 2010, Naples, Italy
2010 marks 50 years since the so called “Year of Africa”, when many African states obtained their independence from colonial rule.
In recognition of that anniversary, the University of Naples “L’Orientale” and its Department of African and Arabic Studies will host the national conference "Italian studies on Africa 50 years after independence".
The three days conference will provide, for the first time in the last 25 years, an arena for Italian scholars of Africa to share ideas, research projects and results. The conference is interdisciplinary and open to all methodological approaches in the Social Sciences and Humanities.
The conference is opened to the public and will take place at Palazzo del Mediterraneo, via Nuova Marina 59, Naples, Italy
