I'm trying to put together a panel proposal for the 2011 SMH Conference. Right now, we have a paper on civil-military relations in the US Navy from the Revolution through the War of 1812 and a paper on Confederate Secretary of the Navy Stephen Mallory's civilian career. The general theme is civil-military relations in the Navy, but anything having to do with civil-military relations or naval matters will work. The deadline for proposals is October 1.
